Set for Success-By Kate Wilcox

God’s love is so amazing! I have worked in Human Resources and Training for years and the one thing I always strive to do is set people up for success. Well, God is the master of this and I am so thankful He always sets us up to succeed, not only because we have His Word (the Bible) to teach us, but because he provides people and gifts to help us grow to be more like him and to carry out His purpose for our lives.

In Ephesians 4 this concept really hit me. 11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.”

Ladies, church is so important. In church, you will find these gifts. God promises in these verses that He has placed people with these gifts in His church. I am so encouraged by this! This means we have everything we need to succeed at growing into the people God created us to be. Jesus has given these gifts to His bride, and will continue to do so! We are to grow to be more Christlike and mature in the Lord. As we grow, we can be firm in our beliefs and speak God’s truth in love. Our responsibility as we grow, is to equip the body of Christ (the church). Yes ladies, that means helping others grow, serving others, and being in the Word daily so that we can continue our relationship with Jesus. The last verse of this section is this; 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Right here ladies, the epitome of being set for success. All we have to do is receive it and take action to do His work. Thank you Jesus for loving us so much that you have given us everything we need to serve you and help the body of Christ grow.
